The Local Government Board has approved this Friday the investment of
2,310,019 euros for the construction of the Puente Castro sports hall, an initiative of the municipal group of the UPL supported by the government team.

The plot on which the sports center will be built has an area of
7,542 square meters and is located between Rosalía de Castro, Villarreal, Sagitario streets and La Lastra avenue. The projected building will have a useful area of 3,054 square meters.
The structure
The new sports center will have a
multi-sports court (49 x 26.5 m), operational as a regulation futsal, handball, basketball or badminton field, a bleacher with 670 seated places and 18 adapted for wheelchair users and a gymnastics and warm-up room (22 x 12 m and a height of 9 meters). In addition, there will be administrative units, a versatile space for meetings, warehouses, lockers, toilets, changing rooms and a medicine cabinet area.
A green area and a water catchment
In front of the south facade of the building, a green area will be set up and space will be reserved for
future outdoor sports facilities.
Another work approved for Puente Castro
It has been the construction of a water well, in the Tomás Mallo square, for a total amount of 23,250 euros.
