Commitments for sports infrastructures

The leader of the Laval Citizens Party – Team Michel Poissant and candidate for mayor is committed to providing the municipality with two domes to allow the practice of various sports including soccer and two outdoor basketball courts.

“As the third largest city in Quebec, we are going to provide Laval with sports infrastructure capable of hosting regional, provincial and national competitions,” said Mr. Poissant in a press release published on September 28.

14 M$

The domes, the construction cost of which is estimated at $ 7 million each, would be produced “in partnership with the public sector, preferably the world of education,” he specifies. This equipment would benefit soccer players, but also athletes from other disciplines such as baseball and football who could “train there year round on a synthetic playing surface, sheltered from bad weather”.

Basketball

In addition, in order to meet the growing demand for basketball in Laval, a Poissant administration would develop two outdoor courts at a cost of $ 200,000 each.

“These two commitments are in addition to those forming part of the party’s program concerning sports infrastructure which can be consulted on the party’s website,” we conclude. (S.ST-A.)
