The ice cream patisserie Hokeypokey wrote on its Instagram page on Sunday that security doors that had been locked several times were broken open and safes with receipts and change were torn from their ground anchors. She spoke of a “bad series of break-ins” there.

The perpetrators broke into the branch on Oderberger Straße in Prenzlauer Berg on Thursday between 4 and 5 a.m. and on Saturday in Torstraße in Mitte. In Torstrasse they had left the deep-freeze warehouse open so that all of the ice had melted.

The entire cash holdings have now been brought to the bank – for the time being, only card payments are possible. The police press office was no longer available for inquiries on Sunday evening.
