Citizen Committee requests to reinforce police surveillance | Tijuana News

Tijuana, BC.- After the homicides registered on Wednesday in the Hidalgo Market and a plaza in Playas de Tijuana, the president of the Citizen Committee for Public Safety of Tijuana (Ccspt) asked to reinforce police surveillance and not lower our guard during the change of municipal government.

“These are very unfortunate events, it is a wake-up call to our corporations to reinforce these parts of the city,” said Genaro de la Torre Quintanar.

He considered that the transition process of the Municipal Government affects citizens by generating a kind of vacuum in power.

Neither have those who have to arrive nor those who have to leave have left and unfortunately this creates a breeding ground for criminals to cross the line, attacking children, parents in crowded places, “he added.

Crime prevention

He acknowledged that the Secretary of Municipal Security and Citizen Protection, Pedro Cruz Camarena has promoted strengthening the issue of crime prevention, but should not neglect other areas.

“We have to be very aware of what is happening in our city, make use of intelligence, see what is happening, the criminal groups how they are working and the armored areas that are more armored,” he said.

He recalled that recently more elements of the National Guard to Tijuana Therefore, they should be used so that there is greater surveillance, patrols and signing points so that in case of registering they can act quickly.

De la Torre Quintanar participated as a guest in the Early Bird Group, where he spoke about the neighborhood committees that have formed in 80 neighborhoods of the city.
