Champions League: Atalanta star Gosens tearfully injured – football

Shock at Atalanta Bergamo’s 1-0 win against Young Boys Bern!

Seven minutes have only just been played when our national player Robin Gosens (27) is rolling on the lawn in pain.

What happened? The Atalanta defender apparently injured himself while kicking the lawn. He then repeatedly grabbed the muscles in his left thigh and clasped his hands in front of his face in pain.

After the doctors of the Italian club rushed to him, the decision was made quickly: Gosens cannot go on. He leaves the place in tears.

Bad news for Atalanta and for national coach Hansi Flick (56). Because now he threatens to fail in the World Cup qualifying against Romania (October 8th) and in North Macedonia (October 11th).

The winning goal in the Bergamo game, which was led by German referee Felix Brych, scored Matteo Pessina (68th). The ball crossed the line once in the first half, but Sandro Lauper’s own goal was not recognized. Atalanta captain Rafael Toloi was offside.

The Bernese, trained by ex-Schalke coach David Wagner, surprised Manchester United with a 2-1 home win on matchday one, Bergamo had separated from FC Villarreal 2-2.
