A 1-0 victory for Inter Miami CF at the expense of Toronto FC ousted CF Montreal from the playoff portrait in Major League Soccer on Tuesday in Ontario.

A red card from Kemar Lawrence in the 37th minute allowed the visitors to evolve with one more man for almost an hour. The latter hooked forward Robbie Robinson before he escaped alone in front of goalkeeper Alex Bono.

Miami was slow to take advantage of it, however. Indeed, they only entered the table in the fifth minute of the time added in the second half. Christian Makoun made the difference with a penalty shot at the very end of the game.

Miami climbs to fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a good 9-9-5 record for 32 points. Montreal (8-8-7) slips to eighth place, but is only one point behind its Florida rivals. Only two points also separate Miami from Atlanta (7-7-9), in the 10th echelon.

Wilfried Nancy’s troupe will try to regain their place in the top 7 on Wednesday, when they visit Orlando.

The Crew runs away with victory

In Columbus, the Crew scored two goals in the final 15 minutes to beat the New York Red Bulls 2-1.

Darlington Nagbe (75th) and Miguel Berry (88th) were the authors of his successes that allowed the Ohio club to end a three-game losing streak. It was only the Crew’s second victory in their last 10 outings.

The formation of the Big Apple was the first to register with the brand. Striker Patryk Klimala (25th) picked up a ball in the penalty area and hit it from the left. His shot left goalie Eloy Room no chance.

No master between NYCFC and FC Dallas

In Harrison, FC Dallas and New York City FC (NYCFC) drew 3 to 3.

Jader Obrian hit the target in the 73rd minute to tie the game and gave the Texan side a point. The Colombian had also moved the ropes from the first moments of the game. The other FC Dallas goal came from Jesus Ferreira.

On the NYCFC side, Maximiliano Moralez, Jesus Medina and Talles Magno have signed up for the brand. At the end of the match, striker Thiago Andrade received a red card.
