The first edition of the Toulouse fair on the MEET site provided a beautiful parabadminton demonstration area. Indeed, to celebrate the first Paralympic medals of French badminton in Tokyo, the medalists of Blagnac at the French championships, joined by another French champion of Toreilles, a medalist of Lavaur and members of the Occitanie league, were able to show a overview of the practice of the discipline on the fair’s sports stand, in the presence of CROS Occitanie. The youngest, 4 years old, was also able to try out the grown-ups’ chair. The episode then continued with discussions with the public who discovered a sport that is both engaged and fun. Many visitors were able to learn about badminton clubs in the Toulouse area, and contacts are now established. Six athletes from the BBC (Blagnac badminton club) participated in the French parabadminton championships, in Carquefou, the first weekend of July, of which it was the eighth edition. They came back with as many medals, gold, silver and bronze. The Caouec club thus presents one of the very first sections in the parabad category, both at the league level and at the national level.
