BC Neuchâtel will have to fight to stay in the national B league

With the departures of Lucie Amiguet, Oriana Dalla Zanna, Noé Varrin and Maxime Pierrehumbert, BC Neuchâtel will have to lower its ambitions. Used to battling for a place at the top of the national B league table, or even aiming for promotion, the Neuchâtelois will have to fight against relegation with Friborg-Tafers II, Geneva and Uni Basel this season.

A reinforcement of the Jura

To compensate for these numerous departures, the Littoral club has strengthened with the arrival of the young Adrian Joliat (18 years old). Last year, the Jura badist defended the colors of BC Courrendlin, in the premier league.

For this new financial year, Eléonore Engel will have the heavy task of succeeding Lucie Amiguet. She is expected to play most of the time with player-coach Maria Uvarova.

In the city of Calvin to begin with

On the men’s side, Krzysztof Wojtowicz, Loris Pierrehumbert and Cyril Maillard-Salin will lead the boat. Quentin Stöckli and Jan Rouiller, both from Villars-sur-Glâne (1st league), can also be aligned thanks to a license plus.

The Neuchâtelois will play this Saturday October 2 in Geneva (2 p.m.) and will host Uni Berne this Sunday October 3.
