Testing is over. The moment of truth has arrived and the new project of Urbas Fuenlabrada begins the league competition this Sunday, welcoming Gran Canaria at 12.30 p.m. in the Fernando Martín pavilion, which will be able to count on the presence of just over 2,000 spectators in the stands (40 % of the total capacity), which is undoubtedly excellent news for the club’s subscribers, who will have to follow a special protocol to access the pitch.

The sensations during the preparation period have been quite positive in general, although as the club’s sports director, Ferrán López, emphasizes, “the preseason is very good to get sensations, but this is history. Everything starts on the 19th and you have to be tough from the beginning. Now it’s about fine-tuning what we have, “he indicated,” because we are a team that does not depend on anyone in particular, but we have a group of 12 or 13 players in which everyone adds.

Far from losing competitiveness, López believes that the level of the Endesa League “is even higher. The other day, talking to some friends, I told them that I don’t see any team worse than us, but I don’t see many teams that are better than ours ”, which leads him to presage that“ everything will be very even ”.

EYENGA, THE ONLY INCOGNITE

The main unknown for this Sunday’s premiere lies in the physical condition of Christian Eyenga, absent last Friday against UCAM Murcia and whose contest will depend on the evolution of his discomfort in the days prior to the meeting. Raventós will initially have the rest of the team available, although players like Kyle Alexander or Ziga Samar accumulate fewer training sessions with the group.

One of the main incentives will be in the official premiere of the three signings made this summer: Dusan Ristic, Sean Armand and Álex López. It should also be noted the growing contribution of homegrown players such as Bagayoko, Juan Fernández, Rodijs Macoha or Malique Lewis, who have had minutes in preseason and who could play a leading role throughout the season in the first team.

Including the premiere this Sunday, the Fuenla team will have to play three games in just eight days, since the start of the calendar is frantic and includes a week-long day, so the ‘Fuenla’ will have to visit Baskonia on Friday 24 (21.30) and receive Morabanc Andorra on Sunday 26 (17.00). The thing begins, then, fidgety.
