The semifinal at the “Giovanni Paolo II” in Avigliana started very well for the Azzurri: in the first inning, two home runs in back-to-back with Pizzano and Friscia brought the national team 3-0. However, later came a few too many errors in the launch phase, considering that Israel was given 13 bases per ball.
The Israeli line-up was therefore good at capitalizing on chances with all the hitters hitting at least one hit. The decisive Israeli draw arrived in the lower part of the sixth inning and yielded the lead of 11-4. The third Italian Palumbo, in fact, made his debut well but then gave a base and a valid one. Kelly, with another base, fills all the cushions, which are emptied by the double of Glasser, eliminated in an attempt to also gain the third. On this Saturday the Azzurri will train in Settimo before tomorrow’s consolation final.
