ARCHERY. ITALIAN CUP ARCO NUDO: A MASS ALL READY

Everything is ready for the first edition of the Italian Naked Arch Cup, the new competition conceived and inserted by the FITARCO management among the National Federal Events to promote the outdoor activity of the archery division bow knot (barebow in the international wording) which counts many practitioners in Italy.
Thanks to the availability of the Municipal Administration of Massa, the CONI Point of Massa Carrara and the leaders of the US Massese, the first edition of the Arco Nudo Italian Cup will be held in Massa on 18 and 19 September 2021 at the “G. Vitali “, in Via Olivetti, 32.

THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE – The organization of the event was entrusted by the Federation to the ASD Apuan lees, which enjoys the support of the ASD Fivizzano archers and ASD Kentron Dard, as well as the support of the FITARCO Tuscany Regional Committee.
The intent is to create a top-level competitive appointment, associating the competition with the promotion of the territory to allow the approximately 200 competing archers, technicians and their families to get to know the beauties of the territory of the province of Massa Carrara.
The Organizing Committee, to take advantage of the combination of “sport and tourism”, has thought of the numerous companions who will reach Massa, providing them with the opportunity to take advantage of the tourist offers of local agencies for excursions, guided tours in the characteristic places of the province or simply to enjoy the sea.

THE NUMBERS OF THE EVENT – The competition is open to athletes over the age of 9, belonging to the classes Boys, Students, Juniors, Seniors, Masters, including Paralympic athletes, who will comply with the admission criteria established by the Federation.
They will be about 200 athletes competing, representing 91 Society from all over Italy.
The competition area includes a shooting line of approx 120 meters linear, 60 targets with views from 122 cm (those that are used in the Olympic Games).
The individual class competition provides 72 arrows shot at 25m for the Junior classes, at 40m for the Allievi classes and at 50m for the Juniores, Seniors and Masters classes. At the end of the 72 round ranking arrows, an absolute ranking will be drawn up based on the scores achieved by the Juniors, Seniors and Masters athletes. The first 32 male athletes and the first female athletes, of the absolute ranking thus drawn up, will participate in the absolute eliminatory phases. The first 8 athletes of the individual competition of the Allievi class (72 arrows at 40m) and the first 8 of the Boys class (72 arrows at 25m) will participate in the preliminary stages dedicated to them.
the eliminatory stages consist of round of 12 arrows each (without direct clashes) which will progressively reduce the number of athletes up to 4 semifinalists. The finalists will play through the direct match (with the set system, the same used in the Olympics) the final match that assigns the absolute gold or the match for the bronze.

THE BLUES IN THE RACE – The competition will have significant connotations from a competitive point of view, considering that many of the Italian archers who took part in the recent 3D European Championships and European Field Championships held in recent weeks in Maribor, Slovenia and Porec, Croatia will be competing . In both cases the Azzurri achieved very high level performances, reaching the first place in the medal table for Nations.
In the continental review in Croatia, in addition to the 26 podiums won, Italy has also obtained 4 passes for the World Games that will be held in Birmingham, in the USA in 2023: 2 in the bare arch and 2 in the Olympic arch. And in Massa the archers who have obtained the qualification for Italy with theirs will take the field barebow: Eric Esposito e Cinzia Noziglia. The latter, an athlete under the Fiamme Oro, is the outgoing champion of the World Games and has just won the European field title and the bronze in the 3D continental review, as well as the European team title in both events. Cinzia is considered the best specialist in the world in this division.

THE PROGRAM – On the day of Friday 17 September the program foresees the arrival of the athletes and their accreditation at the “G. Vitali ”of Massa. Each athlete will also have the opportunity to probe the competition field with 60 minutes of trial shots from 3 to 7 pm.
Saturday 18th September the start of the actual competition with the 72 ranking round arrows that will be used to compose the elimination rounds: in the morning the Boys and Students classes will be on the shooting line, while in the afternoon Juniores, Seniors and Masters.
Sunday 19th September Closing day with the elimination rounds up to the definition of the finalists who will be played with the direct clashes for the victory of the overall title. (Source FITARCO)
