An open week to introduce children to basketball

LUCCA. The special open week promoted by Lucca Academy Basket, the company created at the behest of Basketball Club Lucca and Basket Le Mura, ended on Saturday, with the aim of offering the little ones a unique opportunity in the local basketball scene.

A moment of aggregation, growth, discovery and relationship that, from the first to the 11th of September, involved boys and girls from five to eleven years old, who were able to get to know the world of basketball more closely and appreciate the dynamics of encounter , of fun, integration and positivity that accompany this sport. A precious opportunity for about 50 children who have chosen to try the new experience of the ball in wedges and a confirmation for other 80 young athletes who, already previously enrolled in the Lab, still had the pleasure of participating in the open week, strong of their passion and happy to find their teammates before the new start of the season.

The groups, divided by age from 2010 to 2016, animated the Palatagliate in a right mix of movement, sociality and inclusion, culminating in last Saturday’s training which also saw the participation of the two great Lucca basketball clubs. On the closing day, in fact, alongside the small protagonists of the Lucca Academy Basket, they also intervened Francesca Parmesani, Sofia Frustaci e Maria Miccoli for the Serie A of Basket Le Mura e Davide Vona e Jacopo Pierini for the C gold series of Basketball Club Lucca.

A pleasant surprise was also the participation of Caterina Cerri e Sofia Michelotti of the B series Le Mura Spring. An extraordinary setting that has made the rectangle of the sports hall a real container of smiles, enthusiasm and emotions. Starting yesterday, the mini-basketball courses signed by Lab will officially start, but it is still possible to register or take advantage of a free trial period for all those who want to approach this sport for the first time.

From this year the motor activities will also be interspersed with training moments in English, reconciling sports practice with teaching.
