Allegri is even worse than Pirlo: Juve, a plan B is urgently needed to save the season. This Milan can win the Scudetto | First page

Released unscathed from the Stadium (1-1), where he could have lost the net Milan gets to the top of the table with Inter, waiting for Napoli to play in Udine tonight. If Spalletti’s men get full booty, as I think, they will be alone in front of everyone, but they will play the championship with Pioli’s team.

Juve, after four days, not only have not yet won, but are at the bottom of the standings on par with Cagliari (2 points). Behind there is only the Salernitana to zero. Worst start in sixty years now, it was the 1961-62 season, and he finished in twelfth place.

No danger, Juve will not retreat, but since last night they have already taken leave of the fight at the top (he is at least eight from Inter and Milan, today he will be at least ten from Napoli) and will not even reach the fourth place that ensures the Champions League. I thought everything in life, except that a real coach (Allegri) did worse than one invented by the Agnelli house (Pirlo). But the reality is this and in Turin they would do well to study a plan B. Since the Champions League will be the usual mirage, we might as well “relegate” to the Europa League to try to win it. Not only could it be possible to win a continental trophy that has been missing for a long time (Lippi’s Champions League dates back to 1996), but from this alternative route one could re-enter the top UEFA competition.

Juve did not play badly. He played for an hour and scored only one goal. Once Morata came out for Kean (65 ‘), Cuadrado for Chiesa (72’) and, with a draw suffered, Dybala for Kulusevski (78 ‘), the team dropped out, having neither energy nor ideas. First of all, therefore, there is a physical problem, then there is a question of realization. Scoring after just four minutes (Morata), Allegri’s team, deployed according to the now prevailing 4-4-2, got into a waiting position, shortening without ever pressing. Nevertheless, he still had two chances with Morata (16 ‘, deviation foiled by Maignan) and with Dybala (17’, right from the edge deviated by the French goalkeeper).

Juve had taken the lead with a splendid restart from a corner kick in favor of Milan. Two passes (Alex Sandro for Dybala, Dybala for Morata) e the Spaniard, beating Theo Hernandez at speed, presented himself in front of Maignan to overtake him with a shot underneath. Fantastic goal, but facilitated by AC Milan’s lack of preventive markings. Theo Hernandez avoided making a foul on Morata (he would have canceled a clear goal opportunity) and, given how it went, he did well. Otherwise the direct red would have been triggered and Milan would have delivered ten men to the great pace of Juve. At half an hour an opportunity similar to that of Morata happened to Rabiot, however, the Frenchman – launched by Bentancur – was reassembled by Tomori who avoided a safe doubling. Five minutes later, Milan lost Kjaer (he entered Kalulu who went to the right with Tomori moved to the center). But little or nothing had been seen of the Rossoneri until the interval. A shot by Tonali (deflected) at the beginning and one by Rebic (rejected) just before the end of the first half.

Juve continued to play the game until game time, accumulating regrets. The biggest still with Rabiot who, launched perfectly by Bonucci in the opponent’s area, deflected left rather than hitting his head. Not having doubled was the big fault of the Juventus team who, with the passing of the minutes, thought more about managing than keeping the initiative. Thus, while Pioli replaced Saelemaekers with Florenzi and Kessie with Bennacer, Allegri saw his team getting lower and lower.

Rebic drew with a quarter of an hour from the end on a corner kick (Tonali) and headed ahead of Locatelli (first guilty) and Rabiot (second guilty). But from that moment until the 93rd minute, only Milan were seen on the pitch, and they could also have won if Szczesny hadn’t saved on Kalulu (85 ‘) and shortly before Rebic, on the counterattack, hadn’t shot high. Allegri went out of his way to go from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 and relative reversal of the wing for Chiesa (from right to left) and Kulusevski (from left to right), but the only half chance came on a Kean’s turn (out) from the corner.

Milan, as mentioned, ended up growing. A sign that, despite Liverpool’s hard work, it has fuel and quality. Pioli, without Calabria behind, Ibrahimovic and Giroud in front, Tomori was invented on the right, with Kjaer and Romagnoli central defense. In midfield Tonali was a giant and he also worked for Kessie, in front of Diaz and, only partially, Leao. The team has confidence and even when it is in difficulty (and yesterday it was for an hour) it fights with courage and a strong personality. When he has recovered everyone he will play even better. Meanwhile, yesterday a draw was taken that weighs much more than the point won.
