Hamburg (dpa / lno) – Bundesliga basketball team Hamburg Towers is picking up speed in preparation for the new season. “We took a step in the right direction and managed to play more consistently,” said coach Pedro Calles after winning the friendly over the weekend. His team had won against Giants Antwerp with 103: 83 (45:42) and against league competitor Telekom Baskets Bonn with 83:79 (44:47). Jaylon Brown was the top scorer with 25 and 20 points respectively.
However, the coach sees reserves. “But we still have a lot of work ahead of us, which the partly clear results don’t always show,” he said. They did manage to defy adversity in both games. “What I don’t really like, however, is our decision-making on the offensive,” he added.
