A Quebecer dies after a football match

Quebecer Francis Perron lost his life after a college football match in Ontario on Saturday. He was only 25 years old.

The fifth-year student-athlete was in his first game this season for the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees against Toronto.

After the defeat of his team by the mark of 11 to 10, the student-athlete from Sherbrooke would have felt uneasy. He was pronounced dead shortly after the meeting.

Francis Perron was also distinguished by his success on the school benches. He has received the title of U SPORTS Canadian University Star on several occasions in recent years.

A memorial ceremony will be held over the next few weeks in Ottawa to pay a final tribute to the defensive lineman.

In a press release, the University of Ottawa reminded students, faculty and staff that emotional support services were available.
