Nantiat. An Omnisport day with mixed success. Saturday September 11, the Nantiat omnisport day returned after a year of absence, in order to introduce the greatest number of sports disciplines, but not only. Indeed, several local cultural associations had also invested the stadium and all were waiting to meet their audience.
Fifteen sports clubs with individual and collective sports… Football, handball, basketball, cycling club, judo, Thai boxing, rugby… a gymnasium under construction (and not accessible) and an event organized for the first time at the municipal stadium… a few local associations: Un Air de fleurs, Nantiat Animation, Telethon Destin, and now a discovery afternoon began on Saturday in Nantiat from 2 p.m.
On the team sport side, the various clubs were able to provide small discovery lessons and a lot of children tried their hand at the disciplines but concerning the return of these tests, the clubs do not yet know if they will conclude. Thus, Alexandre Faurie of US Nantiat Handball tells us: “It’s complicated to know if the young people who have come to try handball will sign for the licenses; we saw new faces but we have to wait for the training sessions to know and measure the impact of this day ”.
Only three children in judo
On the judo side, Thierry Fabre from OJ Ambazac and who gives lessons, among others, in the branches of Nantiat and Compreignac is rather disappointed during the day: “We only had three children who came to meet us, that’s little. To draw a parallel for you, with our Facebook page we had about twenty contacts over the past few days, in order to find out about the club and how to register ”.
As for cultural associations, here too the results are mixed; Nantiat Animation, Un air de fleurs and others did not see many people at their stalls: “We were under a marquee at the other end of the stadium, which undoubtedly contributed to the lack of visits”, explains Stéphanie Vacherot. , president of Nantiat Animation. This day, which was intended to introduce young people to all the activities available in Nantiat may have won its bet but less than when the event is organized in the gymnasium: more condensed space by discipline, easier geographical reference, etc.
