75 years of Navarrese basketball

The Navarra Basketball Federation will meet on December 9 his 75th anniversary and throughout the year it will celebrate different activities. The federation has more than 8,000 chips, of which around 60% are women and 40% men.

One of the main ideas of the federation is to hold events that are aimed at all sectors of this sport. The highlight of these events that is being worked on is in bring the two absolute Spanish basketball teams, both female and male.

Pablo Bretos, President of the Navarra Basketball Federation, explained this Thursday during the presentation the two main ideas surrounding these events. “The first is that every month we have an activity of social impact and the second, that all Navarre is represented,” he explained. Also, he announced part of the events that will be held during these months to commemorate the anniversary.

The first was already held on September 4 with the match between two ACB teams. The second event begins this Friday with the Pamplona Masterball Navarra taking place in Larrabide.

In October, the 10th and 11th, it will be held a coaches clinic of the Endesa Women’s League. They will be present Santiago Perez (League runner-up, Queen’s Cup champion and Eurocup Woman champion), Carlos Iglesias (coach of the women’s Casademont Zaragoza), Caesar Aneas (Campus Promete coach) and Jotas Unzué, Osés Construccion de Liga Femenina Challenge coach. On the 30th and 31st of the same month it will be held in Olite a tournament of selections between the Basque Country and Navarra.

On November 13, in Pamplona, ​​there will be a Benjamin season kickoff party. That same day, in Egüés, will be held a match of the Women’s League Challenge with the presence of Osés Construcción Ardoi and a Navarrese derby of 1st National Women between Valle de Egüés and Navarro Villoslada Basket Navarra. A week later, Estella will host matches of the Rioja and Navarra national teams.

During the leasehold bridge, from December 3 to 5 there will be a clinic for referees and table officials. On December 8 and 9, the Federations Cup with the Basque, Riojan and Navarrese in the town of Alsasua.

TWO LUXURY GAMES

Later, the federation will explain the events planned for the second half of the season. One of the highlights that is being worked on is holding matches with the Spanish men’s and women’s basketball teams. Also, it is planned that the Navarra Arena pavilion will hold a festive day with the presence of the elite Navarrese teams.

The Navarra Basketball Federation works in social activities involving, for example, the elderly, Caritas, disabled people or in jail. “All these programs we want to make them visible and to be known and to transcend. A Masterball with 25 teams, two international

The Pamplona Masterball Navarra will be played from this Friday to Sunday in Larrabide with the presence of 25 teams and about 300 players. Specifically, 11 teams are from Navarre, 12 from other Spanish communities and two international, from Ireland and Italy.

In addition, this event has a social component and tomorrow, Saturday, a charity dinner will be held with the participants at the KaleanGora cider house, the proceeds of which will go to the social action programs developed by the Navarra Basketball Federation.

ELIMINATORIES AND FINALS

The tournament is played in four categories. A single female with five teams and three male +40, +45 and +50. In the women’s competition system, the five teams will play all against all.

In men, at +40, there are two groups of four teams, which will have three games each. Then, depending on the classification there will be direct finals.

At +45 there are 9 teams, three groups of three will be made. The first three of each group and the best second will play the semifinals and the final. The two best second and third will compete from 5th to 8th place. The 9th classified in that category will play against the +50 teams, which are only three and thus they can all play a minimum of three games.

The day begins today from 5:00 p.m., will resume on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. and will last until 7:00 p.m. Sunday will begin at 9 am and the finals of the different categories will be played.
