Sudirman Cup 2021 will enter the quarter-finals on Friday (1/10). Here’s the quarter-final drawing schedule Sudirman Cup.
Eight teams have confirmed themselves to qualify for the Sudirman Cup quarter-finals, namely China, Thailand, Denmark, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia.
China and Indonesia have already confirmed themselves as group winners, while Thailand and Denmark have qualified as group runners up. The status of the other four countries will only be known based on the results of the match on Thursday (30/9).
The draw for the 2021 Sudirman Cup quarter-finals itself will take place after the second session of Thursday’s match is over.
Thus, it is likely that the drawing will take place on Friday (1/10) at 00.00-01.00 am WIB.
Indonesia carries a mission to win the Sudirman Cup title. After winning the championship for the first time in 1989, Indonesia was never again able to lift the championship trophy.
Indonesia had to settle for being runner-up in the Sudirman Cup six times, the last time was in 2007. Entering the decade of the 2010s, Indonesia has never even experienced the atmosphere of the final round.
In the last edition in 2019, Indonesia stopped in the semifinals after losing to Japan. China finally won the 2019 Sudirman Cup.
In the 2021 Sudirman Cup, Indonesia won three victories in the group phase. Indonesia won 5-0 over Russia and won 3-2 over Canada and Denmark.
