Where is France at?

The 2021 Olympic Games are 33 sports, 11,000 athletes, 79 nations and more than 1,000 medals at stake. And in all of this, where does France stand?


Wednesday August 4, the France is 8th in the Tokyo Olympics standings, with a total of 25 medals, including 6 gold (judo X2, fencing X2, rowing and shooting). The nation with the most gold medals today is the China (32), it is therefore first in the ranking. In second position we find the United States with a total of 79 medals, 25 of which were gold.

Among the 378 French athletes entered for these Olympics, 51 are from overseas and some have even brought back very beautiful medals: see their record.

France’s stated objective for these Games is to bring home at least 40 medals. As a reminder, France won 42 medals in Rio in 2016, 35 in London in 2012 and 43 in Beijing in 2008. There are still 4 days of competition to achieve this goal. The complete calendar of events is to be consulted HERE.
