Valle de Toluca will host National Tennis Tournament – El Sol de Toluca

The Toluca Valley area will receive the National Tennis Ranking Tournament in singles and doubles for the women’s branch, a contest that will take place from August 25 and will conclude on November 26, 2021.

The event is part of the Amazonas Tennis Tournament (CAT), which receives athletes from 22 years of age who seek to increase the number of players in the face of the commitments of the second half of the year.

The fair is organized by the Tennis Association of the State of Mexico (ATEM) directed by Luis Enrique Flores Fernández, with the support of the Mexican Federation of this sport, so a good response is expected in the call.

In the case of singles, the activities will start on August 25, the matches will be on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m., the competition system will be a round robin to two of three sets with sudden death in all sets, in case double or triple tie in games won should consult the regulations to define the winners.

The tournament will be governed by the ATEM Women’s Circuit regulations, as well as by the FMT code of conduct and the internal statutes of the host club.

Regarding the doubles modality, the competitions will start on August 27 with matches on Fridays from 9:00 am.

Regarding the competition system, the pairs will be drawn on each date and it will be two out of three sets with sudden death in all the partial, in case of double or triple tie, they should consult the regulations, as in the singles modality.

The state association has not yet defined the fields where the competitions will be held, however it announced that they are located in the Toluca and Metepec area, where clubs such as La Asunción and Club Toluca are located.

As part of the promotion of white sports in the Toluca valley area, the Mexican association has held tournaments such as the Interclubes on July 10 where the Trendi Club visited the Asunción Club, after the Development Tournament for the categories of 9, 8, 7 and 6 years of age and under.

It has also been well represented in national events such as Grade 1 that took place in Querétaro, in which Llían Ibáñez won the title in doubles and a finalist in singles in the category 18 and under.

At the same event, Miranda Guzmán won the championship in category 12 and under singles, so the Covid-19 pandemic has not had Mexican tennis, which has increased activity in all categories.
