Transfer: Jaguars send Joe Schobert to Pittsburgh

Joe Schobert has played 77 games in his NFL career with the Browns and Jaguars. He has only known victory 15 times. He should therefore be devastated by his arrival in Pittsburgh, announced Thursday evening by ESPN.

The compensation Jacksonville received in this exchange is not yet known. For the Steelers, it was an opportunity to fill a need for the position of middle linebacker, especially after the surprise retirement of Vince Williams in the middle of the summer. In addition, the excellent Devin Bush returns from a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament.

At 27, Schobert is a veneer machine. He knocked down his opponents 141 times again in 2020. He also had 3 interceptions, deflected 4 assists, forced 2 fumbles and managed 2.5 sacks. In a defense as tight as that of Pittsburgh, it could therefore be a disaster.

Schobert had signed with the Jaguars in 2020, a contract of 5 years and 53.75 million dollars, of which 21.5 million guaranteed.
