“Trading New York for Dallas was an easy decision”

Reggie Bullock became an indisputable piece of the New York Knicks last year, starting 64 of the 65 games he played and with an average of 10.9 points with an outstanding 41% in triples. But next season he will wear other colors, since this summer he decided not to wait for the movements of President Leon Rose to sign with the Dallas Mavericks for three seasons and $ 30.5 million.

“When I played last year against the Mavericks, I liked the way they competed as a team,” Bullock told the NY Post. “They have great players, so it was a smooth and easy decision for me. Being in the Knicks last year we made the playoffs, but I see the Mavericks as a team ready to take the next step, “he admitted.

The Knicks finished 4th in the East with a 41-31 record; and the Mavericks were 5th in the West at 42-30. How much will they improve compared to last year? The New Yorkers have lost defense with the departure of Bullock, but have added offensive quality with Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker. For their part, the Mavs have barely moved in this market and along with Bullock have added Sterling Brown to their roster. They are practically the same team, except for those mentioned above and the dismissal of Rick Carlisle by Jason Kidd in front of the bench.

Tom Thibodeau called Bullock a “forgotten hero” and his former partner Julius Randle acknowledged last Friday that “they will miss” his good work on the floor.

“When it comes to throwing the ball, it is something I am proud of, and obviously also to defend the best player on the opposing team, or to defend anyone,” he said. “I felt that the skill set that I have was easy to come here and be around a great franchise, a great city, a great fan base and bring my game here,” he concluded.

Mark Cuban also considered in his presentation that he will fit better in the team than Josh Richardson and also that he will form a better tandem with the young star Luka Doncic.
