This is how the medal table of the Olympic Games progresses

On August 8 will be the closing ceremony of the jousts.

With five days to go until the curtain falls on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the People’s Republic of China leads the medal table with 32 gold medals.

The Chinese delegation has dominated the discipline of women’s weightlifting, where they won seven gold medals.

In addition, they have excelled in diving, with five medals, as well as in shooting, where they obtained four metals.

The rest of the medals were won in other sports such as swimming, gymnastics, badminton, athletics, among others.

Second place is held by the United States with 25 golds, 11 of which came in swimming, where they have historically been largely dominant.

The North Americans lead the total medal ranking with 77, followed by the Chinese delegation with 70 medals.

However, the medal table is governed by the highest number of gold medals and not by the general total of metals won.

The Americans have 30 silvers and 22 bronzes, while the Chinese have 22 silvers and 16 bronzes.

In third place is the host of the Games, with 21 gold medals, nine of them were won in judo and three in skateboarding, which debuted in this edition of the Olympics.

Cuba leads the Latin American region with five golds, three silvers and four bronzes, which places them in 13th place on the medal table. They won two in boxing, two in wrestling and one in canoeing.
