They organize a basketball clinic with former NBA player Francisco García

The renowned Dominican basketball player Francisco García, former Dominican basketball player and the American NBA association, gave a basketball clinic to boys, girls and young people from the community of Higüey, in La Altagracia.

The event was organized by the Community Relations Directorate of the Bávaro International Airport (AIB), in alliance with the Higüey Mayor’s Office, at the Leo Tavárez Multipurpose Center on August 12. The athlete made known his knowledge and vast experience in the sport to boys, girls and young people between the ages of 10 to 15 years belonging to the women’s and men’s basketball leagues of the municipality’s communities.

The clinic also had the support of Dominican basketball player Edgar Ramírez. The group that participated was limited to 25 people in total to safeguard security measures for the prevention of Covid-19.

The welcoming remarks were given by the executive president of the AIB, Mr. Rafael Fernández de Castro.

The activity was also attended by Mayor Rafael Barón Duluc, popularly known as “Cholitin”, who was hosting an act of recognition for García as a distinguished visitor to the La Altagracia province, an event organized by the director of local policies of the Higüey City Council, Joel I rule.

Víctor Dumé, director of community relations, present at the activity, said that “the Bávaro International Airport maintains its objective of promoting the healthy growth and development of young people through sport, a sport that is also part of our culture and part of the engine that drives the economy of many Dominican families ”.

This initiative of the AIB Community Relations Directorate also continued on August 13 at the Las Lagunas de Nisibón Sports Center, with the support of the Son of Nisibón TV and the Mayor’s Office of the Municipality.
