Romelu Lukaku has arrived in London. Until the eve he was waiting for the green light to travel on to the United Kingdom. After taking his medical tests in Milan on Monday, his private jet makes a pit stop in Nice to finalize the final details with Chelsea. The intention was that they would travel from there on Tuesday morning to Belfast – where Chelsea play the European Supercup today. This way, Lukaku could already meet his future teammates. However, the Belfast plan was canceled due to the delay, Lukaku made the direct flight to London – he arrived around 7 pm.
The delay was not Chelsea’s fault. Inter only wanted to sign the papers if it got hold of its replacement: Edin Dzeko (35) of AS Roma. The Bosnian is currently at Inter’s training center Appiano Gentile, where he had a chat with coach Inzaghi and the players, according to Italian media. So that transition seems to be in pitchers, so that that obstacle for Lukaku is gone and he was able to travel to England.
