We start this overview with Alex Lanier (photo, below right), the new prodigy of the France team, who almost won his second Future Series tournament this year. After Lithuania, the youngest tricolor continues his fine career with the Seniors, still in the Baltic country, with a final in Latvia that he could have won. Leading 16/13, then 19/18 in the third set of the match against the Indian Maisnam. Lanier ended up losing after 1h15 of play, 21-15, 12-21, 22-20.

A little further south, in Hungary, for a junior tournament, these are two pairs that shone in Pecs, with two gold medals for the duos Tino Daoudal / Paul Tournefier, winners of the Belgian N1 Seaders in the final, and Adèle Filloneau and Eulalie Serre in women’s doubles.

Danish Cup – The Blues shine

This weekend too, our young tricolors went to the traditional Danish meeting, the Danish Cup, to face the best Europeans, both in the junior category (U19), but also in the cadets (U17). The Bleuets have not been unworthy, far from it.

With, by the way, among the juniors, a Christopher Vittoriani, the local, who will have hurt the‘French team, by overcoming Sacha Levêque in the quarterfinals, then Enogat Roy in the half (21-19 in the third), before crucifying Amaury Lievre (photo in A) in the final, after a magnificent comeback and a 22-20 final victory in the third set .

Superb and surprising victory on the other hand for Natan Begga and Titouan Hoareau in men’s doubles, with two matches won in extremis during the weekend before taking place and going to beat the Danes Dam Solthstrup / Soby. Téa Margueritte and Anna Tratanova narrowly bowed in the women’s double final. Tea was very close to qualifying for the final with Lucas Lenoir in mixed, beaten in a semi 22-20 in the third set.

In the cadet category of the same tournament, Arthur Wakhevitsch will have honored his status as TDS1 with an easy victory, having lost only one set over the entire competition. Alicia Hyuhn arrives as a semi in women’s singles, as does the Crespel / Desmots-Each pair in women’s doubles. The Danes have won the bet on all the other titles.

Pi Hongyan on sand

The former world number 2 left the beaches – and the good weather in Marseille to try his hand at Air Badminton, with a new competition, the Nation’s Cup, between four teams for a title, over one day, in a round format Italian (first team arriving at 100 points with five team rotations). At this little game, the tricolors led by Pi Hongyan (pictured here with Julie Ferrier), but also Vincent Médina, Quentin Vincent, Léa Palasse, Julie Ferrier and Thomas Vallez, have distinguished themselves. In addition to the good humor, the dives of Vincent, the laughter that it was possible to see in live streaming, the tricolors qualified for the final by beating the Germany of Johanna Golisewski and Karine Schnasse among others, before losing in for Gold against the Netherlands.
