The head of the Sports Program, Cintia Ramírez, and the mayor of Juana Koslay, Jorge “Toti” Videla, officially presented the initiative this Wednesday. They are free schools and residents can choose from a wide range of disciplines. Registration is open and classes will begin on Tuesday, August 17.
In addition to the sports initiation schools that are already operating in the neighborhoods “Mirador del Portezuelo” and “Eva Perón” in the city of San Luis, this Wednesday those that will operate in Juana Koslay from August 17 were presented. Running, functional training, cycling, mixed soccer, soccer, hockey, basketball, maxi basketball, volleyball, rhythms, zumba, judo, taekwondo and wrestling are the activities and disciplines that residents can choose.
Located in strategic points of the city, such as the Urban Park, the Dupuy Hall, the Cultural Center and the square located in the roundabout of Los Puquios and Santos Ortíz avenues, children from 6 to 12 years old, and older adults will be able to choose the sport and the place that best suits them according to their proximity to their home.
“We are very happy to continue opening sports schools. Juana Koslay has a first-class sports infrastructure, and we thank the mayor for this important work together, ”said Ramírez. In turn, he announced that “we are going to reach the entire province with different sports initiation and development schools.”
The mayor of Juana Koslay, Jorge “Toti” Videla, recalled that “these schools had been in mind for a long time”, but “the pandemic stopped us”. He described as “excellent” the activities carried out in the “Ave Fénix” for the residents, and at the same time highlighted this project because “it is very important to reach the neighborhoods with sports schools.”
