The most expensive car this year. The McLaren F1 sold for 442 million

The McLaren F1 is an absolute legend in the field of super sports cars. That’s why it has been speculated that this particular piece, which has been auctioned in Pebble Beach, California in recent days, will be of extremely high value. There are two reasons for this – on the one hand, it is in the unique brown color of Creighton, which no other McLaren F1 has in the world, and on the other hand, its odometer shows only 387 kilometers.

Initially, appraisers said that a car with body number 029 – the 25th piece delivered to customers, specifically completed on December 23, 1994 – could be worth about $ 15 million. However, the final price climbed much higher – the new owner paid 20,465,000 US dollars for a unique car, ie approximately 442,024,000 crowns.

The vehicle was sold as new to Japan, where its then owner used it very rarely, but cared for it. In 2012, he changed owners within Japan, a year later it was sold to the USA, but even the third owner did not drive often, as evidenced by the low mileage. The price was also influenced by the fact that the car is in its original condition, all custom-made luggage that was delivered to it, a complete gold set of titanium tools or a rare TAG Heuer watch.

Under the F1 hood is a 6.1-liter V12 engine from BMW workshops, which has an output of 627 horsepower and is linked to a six-speed manual. The car, which is almost 30 years old, then has carbon fiber, kevlar or titanium under the hood. On a closed circuit, McLaren can travel up to 332 kilometers per hour.
