It was the shock of this group C of the 2021 basketball Olympics. Spain, world champion, was opposed to Slovenia, European champion. She finished first with 15,083 points and succeeds star Simone Biles, titled in Rio. American Mykayla Skinner, who replaced Simone Biles due to her forfeit, finished second with 14.916 points.

The Summer Olympics take place from Friday 23 July 2021 to Sunday 8 August. The start of these 2021 Olympics preceded the opening ceremony, the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee having decided that matches in the preliminary rounds of football and softball competitions would be played the day before. Preliminary rowing and archery events have been scheduled for July 23, the very day of the ceremony.
