“Unfortunately, what we feared most happened. The exponential increase in the number of people infected with covid in Japan after the Olympics means that the Japanese government will now not allow the eight-hour race in Suzuka to go according to plan, despite huge efforts by organizers,” Jorge Viegas Motorcycle Federation on the championship website. “In order to maintain the number of events, we will activate Plan B with a race at Autodrome Most on October 9. It will be a mixed car and motorcycle event, as was the case in Slovakia and Malaysia two years ago,” he added.

The World Championship of Endurance Motorcycle Racing has races in Le Mans and Estoril. It will take place in front of the Bridge in September in Le Castellet, France.

Japan this week also canceled the October Formula 1 Grand Prix in Suzuka due to coronavirus.

Also in the FIA ​​WTCR car series, Most will replace one of the canceled races in Asia. The world’s highest series of touring cars will visit northern Bohemia after ten years.

“It is a great commitment for us, but also another opportunity. We already have experience in organizing major global events and we are well prepared for companies of a similar size. I am pleased that our circuit is gaining a world reputation, and I take this as proof that we are work well, “said Josef Zajíček, Chairman of the Board of Autodrome Most, who hosted the Superbike World Championship for the first time this year.
