The Blazers tested Dillon Brooks

With just one day to go until August officially closes, the free agency fish is practically sold. The name of several players is still to be found in the air but a change of destination would only take place through a transfer.

Damian Lillard has been in that spotlight for the last few months, although everything points to the start of the 2021-22 season in Portland. The first weeks of free agency further fueled the buzz as the Blazers made little or no moves. And in the draft they did not have pick some, although they would close a deal for Greg Brown, 43rd pick.

However, the Oregon franchise has decided to energize the market now that the rest of the franchises have finished their duties. Just a few days ago they were participants in a three-way transfer through which they received Larry Nance Jr. from Cleveland. In exchange, they sent a Derrick Jones Jr. to Chicago who never made it onto the team.

In addition, journalist Shams Charania has revealed that the Blazers also showed great interest in Dillon Brooks before starring in the operation. Thus, the need to add defense to a team that suffered from it during the past year is confirmed.

The Blazers’ room for maneuver is pretty limited, so we don’t know if interest in the current Memphis Grizzlies player continues. Charania did not delve into it. But facing a new transfer would force the front-office to get rid of some piece of weight.
