The 5-team trade between Lakers, Nets, Spurs, Wizards and Pacers!

An important trade was born between Wednesday to Thursday in the NBA, involving no less than 5 teams! It notably allows Spencer Dinwiddie to join Washington and Russell Westbrook the Lakers, but not only. We take stock.

We have known for a few days already: Russell Westbrook was going to join the Lakers. The information was known, but not yet fully “official” in the NBA. It was not until August 6 for the documents to be signed, but especially to know the final trade.

Because with such an exchange, other teams are always looking to recover something to try to improve next year. The proof: no less than 3 other franchises have decided to join in the fun. In addition to the Lakers and the Wizards, the Nets, the Spurs and finally the Pacers are in the lot.

Westbrook at the Angelinos, the other info to remember is the official signing of Spencer Dinwiddie on the side of the Wizards. But for such an exchange, it was necessary to involve Brooklyn for a sign-and-trade. The Athletic has developed a graphic that allows you to see more clearly. Rather judge.

The Lakers therefore receive: Russell Westbrook, a second round of 2024 (the worst between Washington and Memphis), and a second round of 2028 from the Wizards.

Les Wizards reçoivent : Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell Pope, Montrezl Harrell, Aaron Holiday et Isaiah Todd.

Spurs receive: Chandler Hutchinson and a 2022 second round (best between Chicago, Detroit and LAL).

The Pacers receive: Isaiah Jackson

Nets receive: A 2024 second round (best between Memphis and Washington), a 2025 second round trade (Golden State or Washington) and a trade exception for $ 11.5 million.

A huge trade therefore, which allows to see more clearly as well. It takes time, a long time to figure out which franchises are doing the best. Right now it’s obviously the Lakers and Wizards, but beware of a surprise.
