Thaddeus Young appears on Phoenix Suns radar

When the Spurs got Thaddeus Young in the sign-and-trade It didn’t take long for DeMar DeRozan to make it clear that the power forward was in the market. Given this declaration of intent, it is strange the few teams that seem to have knocked on the door, although it is somewhat consistent that the one who ends up doing it is the Phoenix Suns. In his last article for The Athletic, Shams Charania breaks down Arizona’s interest in the veteran, whose acquisition appears to be close.

Torry Craig’s departure leaves a wing vacancy the Suns have yet to fill and for which Young would be ideal. On the part of San Antonio, the front office expects to receive a strong offer, so the Suns could be forced to exchange a rotation player such as Dario Saric. In any case, Thad is coming off an excellent season with the Bulls, especially as a beacon of the second unit. His averages in 68 games have been 12.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 24.3 minutes per night. Although their 3-point percentages have drastically worsened, their offensive quality can be of great help to any team as soon as they return to close to the 33% they average during their career.
