Tai Tzu-ying (born June 20, 1994) is a female Taiwanese badminton player.
[1] At the age of just 22, she became No. 1 in the world rankings in badminton for women singles in December 2016, and has since held the record with 148 weeks (through July 2021).

Tai won gold at the Asian Games in 2018 and the Summer Universiade in 2018. She has also won two Asian Championships[2] and the All England Open 2020.[3][4]

She participated in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and also the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.[5] She reached the final in 2020, where she was beaten by Chinese Chen Yufei 18-21 21-19 18-21, in the final match, thus securing her first Olympic silver medal.[6]
