Stephen Curry ahead of the Golden State Warriors record extension

Stephen Curry could soon close one of the biggest deals of all time. According to media reports, the Golden State Warriors will present the two-time MVP with another maximum contract.

This is what Marc Stein reports (Substrac). Accordingly, the Warriors and Curry will come to an agreement soon. Curry is expected to get a new four-year, $ 215 million contract that will tie the 33-year-old to the Warriors until 2026.

The Warriors star is already the highest-paid player in the entire NBA, and he should stay that way for a while. In the 2025/26 season, Curry will collect a whopping 59.6 million dollars, on average the Dubs will transfer 53 million dollars to the point guard over the four years. That would be a new record.

When the contract finally expires, Curry will be 38 years old, it is unlikely that the two-time MVP will still operate at the level of previous years. As a counterexample, Chris Paul can be mentioned, for example, who at the age of 36 led the Phoenix Suns into the finals for the first time since 1993.

In the past season, Curry played at least at the level that made him MVP in 2015 and 2016. The 33-year-old was the top scorer in the league with an average of 32.0 points and set his own personal best. The Guard has been playing for the Warriors since 2009, only Udonis Haslem has remained loyal to a franchise for longer (since 2003 in Miami).
