Moments that are rewriting history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Despite being played behind closed doors, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are establishing themselves as an incredible moment of sport. The enthusiasm and dedication of the athletes seems to shine through at levels perhaps never reached on TV screens all over the world, and Italy is achieving fantastic results, both in the historically more “reliable” disciplines and, above all, in competitions in which they are literally indelible pages of history have been written (gold in 100 meters at Marcell Jacobs), e conveyed the highest messages of passion, devotion and friendship that sport can transmit (the gold of Gianmarco Tamberi in the high jump, shared with the Qatari Barshim, or the silver of Vanessa Ferrari in gymnastics and bronze of Irma Testa in boxing).
It is not easy to enclose all the emotions of the competitions: the medals of Italian weightlifting, swimming, skeet shooting and rowing, the gold won in the dives by a moved Tom Daley after many failed attempts, the positive surprise of the new disciplines (3 × 3 basketball, BMX, skateboarding). Let’s try to retrace Tokyo 2020 in this gallery with 21 photos (one more than twenty, just like these Games).
