It tightens my throat when I have to read this: The drama about Rudi Assauer († 74), the legendary Schalke manager. To my friend who has been around for decades.
Since his death in February 2019, the terrible allegation has been in the room that Assauer was systematically plundered by his own daughter Bettina Michel (now 56) and his two agents. The prosecutor is investigating.
Now the “ZEIT” published a list of Assauer’s estate, which his daughter finally submitted after a year and a half, threats of compulsory detention and several detention requests.
If this list is correct (which not only I don’t believe), the life of one of the most radiant personalities in German football ended in a pitiful way.
In addition to lingerie, jeans, polo shirts, sweaters, etc. he is said to have still owned on the day of his death:

Handwritten was also added: 1 car Opel Meriva, model year 2010. It is known that there were only 15,000 euros in cash and company shares (“McChicken GmbH”) worth 25,000 euros.
According to tax documents, Assauer still had assets of around EUR 2.3 million in 2010. According to “ZEIT”, the so-called raw assets amounted to 6.7 million euros. There was a lot of money in real estate. In 2011 he moved into his daughter’s row house, where he lived in a small room on the first floor.
In 2012 he made his rapidly progressing Alzheimer’s disease public in an interview with me. A few years later he didn’t recognize me when I visited him.
The properties have been sold. But where is the money?
According to “ZEIT”, his daughter has built a shadowy kingdom at Volksbank Ruhr Mitte in Gelsenkirchen. With eleven different accounts, including two lockers. Some belonged to Bettina Michel, some to her mother, others to “Mirandum GmbH”. The two authorized managers were here: Assauer’s former secretary Sabine Söldner (61) and the cosmetic surgeon Heinz Bull (77). The seat of the GmbH was temporarily the private address of the daughter. She had access to everything.
In 2018, with the support of Schalke, a film about Rudi Assauer’s life was premiered in the Veltins Arena. The income from 20,000 (!) Paying viewers should benefit the “Rudi Assauer Dementia and Society” initiative. But apparently a cent never arrived here …
One of the legendary sentences of the maker Assauer is: “When the snow melts, you can see where the poop is!”
There is no more snow in the tragedy surrounding his person.
