Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon will undergo surgery to repair a right hip injury that will leave him out for the remainder of the season, the team announced Wednesday.

Rendón has dealt with several injuries this season, including a strained right groin, a blow to his left knee and a stiff hamstring, limiting him to 58 games in which he hit .240 / .329 / .382 with six home runs and 34 pushed.
He is in the second season of a seven-year, $ 245 million contract he signed in December 2019.
