KOMPAS.com – The journey of the Indonesian badminton team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has been completed on Monday (2/8/2021).
As a result, Indonesia brought home two medals from this tepok bulu sport with details of one gold and one bronze each.
Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu won the gold medal, while the bronze medal was presented by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
The duet of Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu won the gold medal after defeating Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan (China) in the women’s doubles final at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza Monday (2/8/2021)
Greysia/Apriyani won two straight games with a score of 21-19 and 21-15.

Thanks to this victory, Greysia/Apriyani became the first Indonesian women’s doubles to win an Olympic gold medal.
The bronze medal won by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting was a sweet closing for the Red and White badminton team’s gait at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Anthony Ginting won the bronze medal after arresting the Guatemalan representative, Kevin Cordon, in the match at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza, Monday (2/8/2021) evening WIB.
Ginting, who is seeded in fifth place, won two straight games with a score of 21-11 and 21-13 in 38 minutes.
Indonesia actually sent 7 badminton representatives to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The other five representatives are Jonatan Christie, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, and Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti.
