Puerto Rican men’s quintet finishes seventh in the U-16 World Cup | Basketball

Puerto Rico closed its participation in the U16 men’s World Cup.

The Puerto Rican team comfortably defeated the Chilean representation with a score of 73-46 to finish in seventh place in the tournament, which is held in Xalapa, Mexico.

Gali Madoxx was the best in the win with 16 points, two rebounds and five assists in just over 24 minutes of play.

Alejandro Aviles and Brandon Lee each scored ten points.

Puerto Rico lost on Friday in the quarterfinals to Canada, with a score of 93-65, to only have options to fight one of the positions from five to eight.

The team failed to strike out their ticket to the U-17 World Cup.

The Puerto Rican women’s team also failed to qualify for the important tournament after falling by just one point, 67-66, to Mexico, during the quarterfinals held on Friday.

The Puerto Ricans fought during Sunday afternoon for the number five spot in the U-16 Women’s World Cup.
