In the fight until the last seconds, the Picardy judokate Sarah-Léonie Cysique wins her duel against her Japanese opponent Tsukasa Yoshida. The Axonaise offers a fourth point to the France team, synonymous with a gold medal. France won the supreme title in the mixed team event against Japan, yet at home and archi favorite.

“I told myself I was going to take my revenge. In 2019, I managed to beat her in seconds and at the Masters, she was the one who beat me. I really wanted to win this fight and especially that we come back with a nice medal“, says Sarah-Léonie Cysique, a few minutes after her victory.

Madeleine Malonga also gold medalist
If she did not take part in the fights, the Camblysienne Madeleine Malonga also climbs on the top step of the podium as a substitute. A final in apotheosis for our two Picardy judokats who are about to leave Tokyo with plenty of medals. In addition to the team title, Sarah-Léonie Cysique and Madeleine Malonga had already gleaned silver individually in the under 57 and 78 kilogram categories.
