WESTFIELD, Ind. –The Indianapolis Colts signed 28-year-old quarterback Brett Hundley on Saturday, a day after announcing Carson Wentz would be out indefinitely with a foot injury.

Hundley was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2015 auction. The six-foot-three quarterback wore the uniforms of the Packers, Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.

He appeared in 18 games, including nine as a starter, over his six-season career, completing 199 of his 337 passes for 1,902 yards. He also had nine touchdown passes and suffered 13 interceptions.

Hundley also collected 309 rushing yards on 46 carries and scored a touchdown.

The Colts started training camp with four quarterbacks, but Wentz is the only one to have thrown a pass in the NFL.

Offense coordinator Marcus Brady explained that Wentz suffered an injury towards the end of Thursday’s practice. The Colts’ starting quarterback did not take the field on Friday, as Jacob Eason did the majority of the drills with the starting lineup.

The Colts drafted Eason in the fourth round in 2020.

The other active quarterbacks with the Colts are Sam Ehlinger, drafted in the sixth round by the team in April, and Jalen Morton, who was cut off during the Packers camp last season.
