CJ McCollum e Damian Lillard was the couple who in recent years has dragged the length and breadth of the Portland Trail Blazers. The two have known each other for some time and both would like to bring a title to Oregon. The issue, however, seems to get complicated with each passing season. Despite the sporting disappointments, the two do not complain about anything on a personal level.
CJ McCollum, guest on the JJ Redick podcast, wanted to talk about his relationship with the other Blazers star:
“Damian Lillard could have made the Portland Trail Blazers change their minds when they wanted to choose me. He could have said ‘Nah! we don’t need another guard. ‘ Instead he encouraged the front office to choose me. He practically helped me to join the team. We were already friends, even before the NBA Draft. All of which made the rest easier. He’ll tell you I’m a little crazy. But he respects this madness of mine. He will tell you how I am not afraid to challenge anyone. As I have no fear of marking someone in training. I always trash talk to him. I do it with anyone. I don’t try to be like any other player, just to be myself… I think he respects this part of my character. “
