Miami Heat executes their option on Goran Dragic and releases Andre Iguodala

The Miami Heat have exercised their contract option on veteran point guard Goran Dragic valued at $ 19.4 million for the 2021-22 season. Likewise, they have declined the same on Andre Iguodala of 15 million, being from next August 2 an unrestricted free agent, reported Adrian Wojnarowski of the media ESPN.

Dragic could continue in the Miami Heat if its president Pat Riley considers it appropriate, or be part of a future transfer operation as has been rumored in recent weeks.

As noted by the aforementioned Wojnarowski, one of the main targets in the next free agency will be Kyle Lowry, who finalizes his respective agreement with the Toronto Raptors. The point guard has also recently attracted the interest of Philadelphia, Dallas or New York.

Dragic came to the Florida franchise in 2015 from the Phoenix Suns. Since then, he has played 391 official meetings with the Heat jersey, averaging 16.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1 steal in 30.9 minutes per game.
