Afrobasket 2021: defeat by Angola, the DRC leaves the tournament

The men’s basketball Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were largely defeated by the Palancas Negras of Angola (58-73) in a match counting for the 3rd and final day of the group stage of this competition, Saturday 28 August.
The Congolese Fauves completely missed their match a large number of loss of balls and a lot of clumsiness in the shots from a distance which penalized them. The Congolese thus leave the competition in favor of their opponent who will however have to go through the dams to reach the quarter-finals.
With two big defeats against Rwanda and Angola and a painful victory against Cape Verde, the results are rather negative for the Leopards at this edition of Afrobasket, which they had already started badly in terms of preparation where psychologically the team was not in the right mood. Many senior players, for various reasons, did not respond.
