After the joy and hysteria around the recruitment of Lionel Messi, Paris Saint-Germain is back to its daily routine. While they still have to find many ways out for their unwanted, Ile-de-France leaders are fighting hard to try to extend Kylian Mbapp (22), whose contract expires next June. A bitter struggle which still does not bear fruit. And it may well be that the positions will not come closer in the coming months.
Mbapp sale excluded
In recent hours, the Spanish press voiced an imminent meeting requested by the French striker to demand his departure from Real Madrid Nasser Al Khelafi. Two weeks before the end of the summer transfer window, the 2018 world champion probably believes that this is the best time to put pressure on his superiors to accept a possible offer of around 150 million euros for the training Spanish, well decided to achieve this big blow during this month of August. A strategy that could however be doomed to failure.
Indeed, the journalists Gianluca Di Marzio (Sky Sport), Loc Tanzi and Julien Laurens (RMC) affirm that the vice-champion of France has absolutely no intention of giving in in this series. The latter, who have done what is necessary to allow the former Mongasque to find himself in a pletoric workforce with plantar stars in all positions, believe that they have not given in to the pressure. For PSG, this 2021-2022 season started with Mbapp and it will also end with him.
PSG still have hope
A clear and not very surprising position of the Parisian board, which has always ruled out a sale of its jewel, let alone a few months of the much awaited World Cup in Qatar. The leaders also remain hopeful that they will succeed in convincing their young talent to extend its lease, at least for two more years, but negotiations are still at a standstill. A priori, the two parties are heading well for a fifth season in collaboration. Perhaps the last, less of a turnaround …
