“If they work as they should, we are of course counting on them in the future. They played some preparatory matches for us. They also get a chance in Litoměřice to play adult hockey. “He has to win a place in the A-team with his work and training,” said Pavel Hynek, the club’s general director.

Vopat comes from a hockey family. His grandfather played for Litvínov 12 seasons in the highest competition, then he worked in the club as a coach and general manager. His father and uncle made it to the NHL. The young striker played last season in Finland, where he wore an Ilvesu Tampere jersey in the under-18 and under-20 categories.

“He coached the whole summer training with us. He got a chance in the preparatory duels and also competed in Litoměřice. It should also be available to juniors, where the competition is downhill this year,” outlined the Litvínov coach Vladimír Országh.

Slavík went through national teams under the age of 16 and 17. He made his extra-league debut last season. “Marek made great progress last year. He trained with us for more than half of the season because the junior competition was suspended due to the covid and the youth could not train. He is well on his way, but he has to confirm it further,” said Országh.
