In his own half near the sideline, Messi gets the ball, then he dribbles off, he hops over slides, prances around the defender and goalkeeper, hits; the opponents stare at each other first, then Messi, team-mate Samuel Eto’o grabs his head with both hands, the fans in the stadium shout “Meeessi”, “Meeessi”. “I’ve seen goals from Pelé, Maradona and Ronaldo, but this one was the best today,” said teammate Deco afterwards.
