With the Thunder, the Spurs were very interested in Lauri Markkanen as the “free agency” approached. A “sign-and-trade” had been set up in order to allow Chicago to recover a counterpart.
But the deal will not be with the Spurs, Brian Windhorst having indicated that the wage demands of the interior were too high for the Texas franchise.
San Antonio has therefore changed its tune, recruiting Zach Collins on a three-year, $ 22 million contract, and organizing another “sign-and-trade” to send DeMar DeRozan to the Bulls against Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, a first round of Draft (2025) as well as two second rounds of Draft (2022 and 2025).
