LaMarcus Aldridge could return to the NBA

He’s not a great signing, but little better news could have come in the middle of free agency. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, LaMarcus Aldridge would be seriously considering returning to the NBA in the 2021-22 season.

The All-Star power forward joined the Brooklyn Nets in March 2021, but soon after was forced to leave the discipline of the New York team and basketball in general due to cardiac irregularities. It all happened in a matter of three weeks, and Aldridge made it clear that he felt he still had much more to give. Now, even if it is not safe, a door is opened for you to retire competing.

This change of mind is not only due to a personal decision, but to the last medical consultation carried out, in which they would have given him good news regarding that heart problem that led him to leave the world of the basket. On how his return would take place, the aforementioned journalist emphasizes that in the coming weeks he will have individual meetings with various franchises. If they were interested, it would always be necessary for them to medically authorize him to return.

This information should be taken in stride. Wojnarowski emphasizes that for now we are only talking about one possibility, and although the doctors have given him good news, there is still the possibility that Aldridge finally chooses not to return; it’s a decision you have yet to make.

If he finally chooses to return to competition, the truth is that everything indicates that it would be a huge acquisition for any team. Last season he could only play 21 games with San Antonio before going to Brooklyn, but as a Nets player he showed his enormous talent to average 12.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 26 minutes a night.
